RiverWest AI

The firm’s in-house AI assistant.

RiverWest AI is the firm’s own AI assistant — a fast, familiar, Claude-style chat built right into the Toolbox. Draft and edit writing, research the live web with cited sources, analyze the spreadsheets and documents you attach, ask what firm policy says, and generate images — with no per-seat subscriptions to outside AI, and your conversations kept inside the firm’s governed environment.

Meet RiverWest AI

A capable general-purpose assistant — governed, on-brand, and always in the Toolbox.

How it works

Three steps from question to answer you can use.

01

Ask — pick an intent, not a model

Start a chat and choose Fast, Balanced, Deep, or Auto. You describe the kind of thinking the task needs; the firm's routing maps it to the right model behind the scenes.

No memorizing model names or tuning parameters. Auto reads the request and picks for you.

02

Attach, focus, or ground

Drop in a PDF, Word doc, spreadsheet, or image — spreadsheets get real computed analysis, not just a summary. Pick a firm-authored function to keep the answer on-brand, or turn on read-only grounding to reference live toolbox data.

Grounding only ever reads data you can already see — nothing new is exposed, and every grounded claim carries a source chip.

03

Get an answer, then iterate

The response comes back with sources cited where it used them — firm policy, live toolbox data, or the web. Refine it, ask a follow-up, generate an image, or run a saved playbook.

Your conversations, drafts, and uploaded documents stay inside the firm's governed environment.

A grounded conversation

Ask in plain English; RiverWest AI drafts, and when grounding is on, cites the toolbox data it used.

Here’s a draft you can send:

“The Dockside Phase 2 note matures Sept 30. We’re targeting a rate-and-term refinance and expect a term sheet within two weeks; current DSCR supports the requested proceeds…”

Ask what firm policy says

RiverWest AI looks up the firm’s policy library and answers with the passage that actually covers your question.

How many days do I have to submit travel?

Looked up: Travel & Expense Policy

Thirty days. The policy reads: “Expense reports must be submitted within 30 days of the date the expense was incurred.”

Travel & Expense Policy · §4.2

Research the live web

Current information from outside the firm, with every claim carrying the source it came from.

What’s the current 10-year Treasury yield?

Searched the web · 3 sources

The 10-year is trading around 4.18%, roughly 12 bps tighter than a month ago — worth noting against the Dockside refinance timeline.

Real analysis on your spreadsheet

Attach a spreadsheet and it writes and runs analysis code over your data — computed answers, not a summary.

Why you’ll use it

A capable assistant that stays inside the firm.

Everyone already reaches for an AI chat to draft, summarize, and think out loud — but on personal accounts, with firm data pasted into who-knows-where. RiverWest AI gives you that same everyday assistant inside the Toolbox, governed, with no per-seat subscriptions and no data leaving the building.

Everyday knowledge work

Draft emails and memos, summarize attachments, reason through numbers, and explain concepts — the general-purpose work you'd use any AI chat for.

Attach and analyze

Drop in a PDF, Word doc, spreadsheet export, or image and ask questions about it — no copy-pasting into an outside tool.

Intent tiers, not model-picking

Choose Fast, Balanced, Deep, or Auto. You pick the kind of thinking; the firm's routing maps it to the right model for you.

Functions and playbooks

Firm-authored focus modes and reusable templates keep answers on-brand and on-policy, so common tasks start from a known-good prompt.

Optional grounding, with sources

Turn on read-only access to live toolbox data you can already see, and answers reference real figures — with a source chip on every grounded claim.

Who uses it

Built for everyone, shaped by a few.

Everyone

Every employee who needs a capable general-purpose assistant. Open a chat, pick an intent tier, attach what you’re working on, and get help drafting, summarizing, reasoning, or generating — all inside the Toolbox.

  • Draft and edit emails, memos, and updates
  • Summarize a PDF, doc, or spreadsheet you attach
  • Work through numbers and explain concepts
  • Generate images without an outside tool
  • Run firm playbooks for common tasks

Curators & admins

The people who shape how the assistant behaves for everyone else. Curators publish firm playbooks and functions; admins manage the model routing, the grounding sources, and who has access.

  • Author and publish firm playbooks and functions
  • Keep answers on-brand and on-policy
  • Map intent tiers to the right models via routing
  • Manage which grounding sources are available
  • Control access and keep everything governed

A quick draft between meetings.

The whole assistant — chat, attachments, intent tiers, functions, and playbooks — works on any phone browser. Knock out a reply, summarize a document someone just sent, or check a figure without waiting until you’re back at a desk.
